December 2006 to-date

In December 2006 I joined Legal Centre as a partner of the firm. I am responsible for a senior level advocacy and representation of the firm clients' cases before the Home Office, UK Immigration Service, Criminal Casework Directorate (CCD), First and Upper Tier Tribunals, Immigration and Asylum Chambers (FTT IAC/UTT IAC). I am also responsible for general supervision of the firm's immigration department and staff and some certain decision making.


SENIOR IMMIGRATION SECIALIST
Law Firm Ltd.
April 2006 - November 2006

In April 2006 I was offred a contract with Law Firm Limited. My work was based in a busy central London office.

I was responsible for the OISC Level 3 Immigration, Nationality and Asylum privately funded immigration cases, including appeals to the then Asylum and Immigration Tribunal (AIT). I was also responsible for supervision of a team of 4 caseworkers. 

My duties included attending the clients, client care letters, case plans, witness statements, skeleton arguments, grounds of appeals, representations to the Home Office.

Additionally I was advising the management on extending the firm's services to Asia and Commonwealth countries as well as implementing up-to-date IT technologies.  

SENIOR CASE WORKER & BUSINESS IMMIGRATION PROJECT MANAGER

Oldham Solicitors & Advocates, Immigration Department

June 2005 – April 2006

In June 2005 I was offered a contract with the Oldham Solicitors and Advocates.

I was responsible for the LSC Level 2 Immigration, Nationality and Asylum casework including publicly funded work (Legal Aid, Controlled Legal Representation) and appeals (Asylum and Immigration Tribunal). I was also responsible for the creation and development of a new Business Immigration Project, a sub-division of the Immigration Department of the firm. I was also providing assistance to a Solicitor to the High Court/Immigration Judge, Head of the Immigration Department.

My duties included attending the clients, prison and removal centre visits, client care letters, case plans, witness statements, skeleton arguments, grounds of appeals, representations to the Home Office. Additionally, my duties included liaising with the overseas employment agencies and lawyers in terms of establishing new contacts to bring the firm more Business/Work Permit clients.

In January 2005 I joined Specialist Immigration Services Ltd. I was responsible for the OISC Level 3 case work for visitors, marriages, unmarried partners, students, dependents, Work Permits (WP, TWES, HSMP, SAWS, SBS, WHM), naturalization, long residence concessions, overstayers as well as the appeals and co-representing clients at court.

 

My duties included attending the clients, client care letters, case plans, skeleton arguments, appeal grounds, client representation at the appeal hearings. Additionally, my duties included the junior stuff supervision and Managed Migration project co-ordination.
